About Taams

Born February 14th 1957 in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. Studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Specialized in General Surgery at the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa. Member of the College of Surgeons of South Africa (FCS-SA), the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

Medical care is a cooperative undertaking between patients and health care providers. You, as a patient, and the Taams Clinic staff have specific rights and responsibilities in relationship to each other.

The island of Curacao is located in the southern part of the Caribbean, off the coast of Venezuela, next to Aruba. Flying time from Miami is 2.5 hours.

The Taams Clinic is centrally located on the island. A twenty minute drive from the airport and fifteen minutes from the centre of historical Willemstad. Taxi fare from the airport is $ 20.

Curacao

Curacao is a small Dutch island in the Caribbean off the coast of Venezuela. Population 127.000. It is part of the ABC-Islands together with Aruba and Bonaire, all former Dutch colonies with autonomous governments since 1954.

Prairie climate. Hot, with a long dry season. Cacti and thorny bushes are the predominant forms of vegetation. During the rainy season (from October till January) the island transforms into a lush green Savanna.

Price list

These prices are offered as guidelines of the total average cost for a specific operation, based on the average length of stay in the clinic. Uninsured patients will be asked to pay the full amount as a deposit before admission. The tariffs of the Taams clinic have not been adjusted by law since 1983 and are therefore the lowest in the world for the same quality of care. All prices are all inclusive in US Dollar, based on a stay in a third class room in the Taams Clinic. Surgeon’s fee, operating room expenses and cost of average length of stay are included. Third class rooms have four beds, air-conditioning and TV. Every room has a bathroom to share with the other room occupants. Second class rooms and first class private rooms are available at additional cost on request.
